US 400m champion Quincy Hall has hit out at Noah Lyles for what he feels is lack of respect for him after the world 100m champion claimed he is not good enough for the 4x400m relay.

US 400m champion Quincy Hall has blasted Noah Lyles for what he feels is disrespect from the world 100m and 200m champion.

Lyles has not hidden his desire of representing Team USA in the 4x400m relay at the Paris 2024 Olympics even though he is not part of the team but he has already been talking how he would be a success in the race and not Hall, considered the best among the cast.

While appearing on the Track World News Podcast, Lyles angered Hall when he would put himself second on the 4x400m relay team with Chris Bailey, Michael Norman and Rai Benjamin the others to complete the lineup.

Even in the form of Hall, who has the best time in 400m of 43.80 seconds in the world this year, Lyles said he would not pick him.

“The only reason I wouldn’t use the current UU champion is because I don’t think he would be a starter. I feel like using him on the first leg would just be almost like a waste to his talent,” said Lyles, as quoted by USA Today. “I just don’t see him getting his full capability out of the first leg.”

Hall did not take the comment kindly, however, and fired back at the multiple world champion.

“(Noah Lyles) I don’t bother nobody but my blocks ready anytime you feel like you can beat me in the 400 you was talking (too) much on my name on (your) little podcast. I don’t do the little slick comments and remarks I line up," Hall posted on X.

Lyles will represent Team USA in 100, 200m and will also be on the 4x100m relay but has been angling to be on the 4x400m relay as well just like he did at the World Indoor Championships in March.

That decsion drew the ire of a number of 400m runners, among them former world 100m champion Fred Kerley, who felt Lyles was being favoured when there were other desrving 400m specialists that should have been included instead.
