Laventa Amutavi, Ferdinand Omanyala's fiancée will not be vying for a ticket to the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary due to an injury setback.
Amutavi said she is bouncing back slowly from the injuries and she wanted to focus on her recovery first before focusing on international assignments.

She added that her main target in the National event is to get to the final and be among the top three finishers.
"This year I'm not focusing on the World Championships, as an athlete, you need to be realistic. For me, having injuries and being in and out of competition have affected me. I'm not in the best shape of my life and I want to focus on improving myself," she said.
She added that at the moment she is working hard to ensure she lowers her time and prepare for a fresh start next year.
"At the moment, I'm just working hard to ensure that I lower my time and prepare for next year. I hope I'll start on a good note," she said.
