E choke! 2 athletes who abandoned Nigeria for USA fail to qualify for World Championships
Annette Echikunwoke and Ezinne Abba dumped Nigeria to represent USA internationally, but now have failed to make the US team to the World Championships in Budapest.
Notwithstanding, Olatoye will cherish her performance as it puts her in a good position and builds her confidence of peaking at the right time ahead of the World Championships in Budapest next month.
There she'll hope to replicate a better 70m throw, which may guarantee her a spot in the final and become the first Nigerian athlete in history to achieve such a feat.
Meanwhile, in the women's Discus Obiageri Amaechi finished in second place with a throw of 56.76m at the same meet.
