Telecommunications giant Safaricom has rewarded athlete Faith Kipyegon for her remarkable achievement of breaking two world records within a span of one week.
Kipyegon, a two-time Olympic champion, will receive a generous sum of Sh2 million from the company in recognition of her exceptional performances in the 1500m and 5000m races.

At the Florence Diamond League, Kipyegon stunned the athletics world by clocking a remarkable time of 3:49.11 in the 1500m, establishing herself as the new world record holder in the event.
Just days later, at the Paris Diamond League, she continued her sensational form and set another world record in the 5000m, completing the race in a stunning time of 14:05.20. With this feat, she surpassed Ethiopian Letesenbet Gidey's previous record of 3:50.07 set in 2015.
"Beating two world records in a span of one week is amazing. It came as a surprise, and up to now, I am still shocked. I didn’t expect this, but again I believe I was well prepared for a good race and to break my personal best. I thank Safaricom for recognizing and honoring me; this is a big gesture in support of Kenyan athletes,” said Kipyegon.
