Samuel Ogazi produced another top three performance in his first professional race at the FBK Hangelo Games in the Netherlands.

Nigeria's teenage 400m sensation Samuel Ogazi is on the right path to becoming a world beater after storming to an impressive third position in his first professional race at the FBK Hangelo Games in the Netherlands.

The University of Alabama standout speedster with a series of record-breaking performances this season, clocked a brilliant 45.35s to finish closely behind Botswana's Busang Kebinatshipi in 45.29s and Germany's Jean Paul Bredau in 45.30s.

Ogazi's breakout performances this season have been amazing, his major highlight being his 44.52s lifetime best to finish third at the NCAA Championships. By doing this, the 18-year-old has lowered his best every time he competed in his first college year in the United States.

Moving to the African Championships in Douala, Cameroon, he also copped a bronze medal in 45.47s as Senegal's Cheikh Tidiana Tiouf won the race in 45.23s, ahead of Botswana's Lee Eppie in 45.39s.

With his recent performance in the Netherlands, Ogazi will be aiming to improve on his form before the Paris 2024 Games, where he will be gunning to at least make the final in his first Olympic debut
