The month of April is primed to witness the season's debuts of top track stars such as Sha'Carri Richardson, Elaine Thompson-Herah, and Shericka Jackson as they begin preparations for a successful Olympic year.
Various track athletes will officially make their first appearance of the season at different times this month, especially at the Xiamen and Shanghai Diamond Leagues. With this in mind, here are the top athletes set to make their individual outdoor debuts this year.
Miramar Invitational
After opting not to compete indoors, world's fastest woman Richardson, is scheduled to kick off her Olympic year at the Miramar Invitational on April 6th by competing in the 100m and 200m events.
Last year, she made her debut at the same meet, clocking a jaw-dropping, wind-aided 10.57s to announce her comeback.

Xiamen Diamond League
The first Diamond League in Xiamen will be a gathering of stars and a clash of mouthwatering events to anticipate. First is the women's 100m Hurdles, which will feature the world's best in world record holder Tobi Amusan, world indoor record holder Devynne Charlton, Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, and reigning world champion Danielle Williams - all making their outdoor debut in the Chinese city.

A star-studded women's 100m Hurdles list has been released for the first Diamond League meet of the season in Xiamen, led by World Record holders Tobi Amusan and Devynne Charlton.
Meanwhile, the men's 100m is also an exciting feature as world 60m champion Christian Coleman will begin his journey to a successful title defence against a respectable field that includes former world champion Fred Kerley and Yohan Blake, as well as newly crowned African Games champion Emmanuel Eseme and world indoor finalist Ackeem Blake.
Richardson is scheduled to race in the 200m, while Faith Kipyegon will have a strong contender in Gudaf Tsegay in the women's 1500m event.

Kip Keino Classic (Kenya)
African Record holder Ferdinand Omanyala will make his outdoor debut on home soil against in-form speedster Letsile Tebogo on April 6th.
The two will square it off in the 100m, and it's estimated that the AR of 9.77s held by Omanyala since 2021 may be under threat.
Shanghai Diamond League
World 200m champion Shericka Jackson is scheduled to make her first outdoor appearance in Shanghai on April 27th to set the tone for a successful outdoor Olympic season.
Bermuda USATF Grand Prix
Reigning double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah attempt at defending her titles in Paris will begin at the Bermuda USATF Grand Prix on April 28th.
She will share the headline with the world's fastest man Noah Lyles, who will be running in his first individual outdoor race of the season.
