Sha'Carri Richardson and ten other nominees are in initial list of the prestigious World Athletics Female Athlete of the Year Award.
World 100m champion Sha'Carri Richardson is among the eleven nominees revealed by World Athletics for the Female World Athlete of the Year Award.
In what has been another memorable year for track and field, World Athletics announced that the nominations reflect some of the standout performances achieved at the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23, one-day meeting circuits, Label road races, and other events around the world.
Richardson stood out this season in the women's 100m and 200m events, ending the season with the 100m world title and joint world-leading time of 10.65s, winning the 200m bronze medal, and anchoring USA's 4x100m relay team to the gold medal in Budapest.

However, the American isn't the favourite on the list to win the award as there are other top competitors such as Faith Kipyegon, Femke Bol, and Shericka Jackson.

Newly crowned US and world champion in the women's 100m event, Sha'Carri Richardson is set to be honoured in her hometown of Dallas for her outstanding performances this season.

Voting Process
The winner will be determined by 50% from the World Athletics Council’s vote, World Athletics Family’s votes and public votes will each count for 25% of the result. The finalists will be announced on Nov. 13-14. Winner announced on Dec. 11.
