Noah Lyles' girlfriend Junelle Bromfield will not be going to Jamaica anytime soon as she fears for her life following death threats.
Jamaican quarter-miler Junelle Bromfield is afraid of travelling back home for fear of her life as she claimed to have received death threats from residents of her country.
The two-time Olympian told Simone Clarke that she could not travel back home upon a request for an interview. Clarke intended to shoot an episode for her show, Sim Soul Sessions with Bromfield who was reluctant to travel to Jamaica despite the company offering to cater for her transport.
In a lengthy post on her Instagram page, Clarke explained that she had to take the initiative to travel to the US, where Bromfield currently resides and do the interview. Clarke noted that it would be great to have Bromfield’s say in everything that has been happening and she could not let the chance slip.

Mondo Duplantis, Jakob Ingebrigtsen among 10 battling for men’s European Athlete of the Year
Ten nominees are competing for the prestigious 2024 Men's European Athlete of the Year award, showcasing incredible athletic achievements.
“I’ve sat and watched what has been happening with @junellebromfield. We reached out to her, and I offered to fly her home to come sit with me for @simsoulsessions because I thought she needed to have her say. Her response hurt my heart. She wanted to accept the invitation, but she was afraid to come home,” Clarke wrote in part.
“Cyberbullying, trolling, and yes, folks - death threats. In that moment, I promised her that if she was afraid to come to us, we were coming to her. I said it, but I didn’t know how it would happen. Once Junelle agreed, though, it was game on. I set about mobilizing, making calls and contacts, with Super Producer @lorij876 at my side, moving mountains, united in purpose,” she added.
After a week of contemplating, Clarke and her producer decided to travel to Orlando and meet Noah Lyles’ girlfriend despite having no sponsors in good time. She urged Jamaicans to stand up and fight for what is right and noted that they should not watch as Bromfield faces backlash.
