Shericka Jackson and Gabrielle Thomas are the headliners for the women's 200m event at the Zurich Diamond League.
World 200m champion Shericka Jackson and silver medallist Gabrielle Thomas will rekindle their World Championships rivalry on August 31st at the Zurich Diamond League.
Jackson won the world title in Budapest in a jaw-dropping Championship Record (CR) of 21.41s to successfully defend her title and break her previous CR of 21.45s.
Thomas was second in an impressive 21.81s, while 100m champion Sha'Carri Richardson was third in 21.92s.
The Jamaican's time strengthened her position as the second-fastest female 200m runner in history, behind Florence Griffith-Joyner's World Record (WR) of 21.34s.

After her 100m victory, Sha'carri Richardson says it has brought unity between Jamaica and USA
In the press conference organised for the 200m medallists, Sha'Carri Richardson said there's nothing but love and unity between Jamaica and USA at the World Championships in Budapest.
After the race, a disappointed Jackson wasn't happy with her CR as it didn't break her goal smashing the WR, but promised to do so at the right moment.
If she's to attempt the WR in Zurich, the Jamaican speedster will need a stiff challenge to push her to the finish line, and she'll get that in Thomas - she has a Personal Best of 21.60s, the fourth-fastest time in history.
Both ladies will be gunning for a famous win and memorable moment, securing their names as the best in the event this season.
