Jamaican sprinting sensation Shericka Jackson has opened up on what she is banking on ahead of breaking the 200m world record set by Flo-Jo in 1988.
Two-time world 200m champion Shericka Jackson has opened up on attacking the late Florence Griffith Joyner’s 200m world record.
The late Flo-Jo is the world record holder for both the 100m and 200m races set back in 1988 and Jackson is the only woman, to get closer to the 200m world record that stands at 21.34.
The reigning world 100m silver medallist became the first athlete to get close to Jackson's record after clocking 21.41 to win the 200m final at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

"You can't predict the weather, you know. You just have to show up, and as I said, once I'm healthy, if I get some good wind, then definitely (I will break the record).
"But you can't predict which weather you're going to get on the day, so it's just one step at a time, and if the world record comes, then definitely a plus.
"I know what it feels like to be fourth, fifth, third. So, therefore, working hard is not something I back away from. I think I'm doing that and working extra hard to maintain where I am and to get better is something I look forward to,” Jackson said as per Sports Max.
