During the pre-race press conference of the Diamond League meeting in Brussels, Jackson disclosed that she wanted to break the record and had expressed her interest in breaking it in the Belgian capital.

Competing in her second Diamond League Meeting this season, she stunned her opponents to take the win in the women’s 100m, clocking a Season Best time of 10.85.
She said: “At the World Championships I was so close, just a little wind and I would have been the world record holder.
"Coach and I have spoken and I think we are going after it this year and I hope to get it tomorrow if I do. That would probably ease a little pressure for me going to Eugene.
"If not, we have another shot at Eugene and as I said, there is no perfect race but I just want to run a good race this season.

In the race, Anthonique Strachan of the Bahamas finished second in a time of 22.31 as USA’s Jenna Prandini finished third after clocking 22.47.
Meanwhile, Jackson ran the second-fastest time ever after clocking 21.41 to reign supreme at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
