Shericka Jackson visited her alma mater on the Wata School Tour with WATA over the weekend and receiving letters from two of her fans left her emotional.
Two-time World 200m champion Shericka Jackson was left emotional by two youngsters from her former school, the Vere Technical High School in Hayes, Jamaica.
Jackson, the World 100m silver medallist, had been invited by the WATA during their official school tour and she was privileged to interact with the students.

Kipyegon had been unbeaten all year just to be subjected to her first loss as she ended her 2023 season.
Two students, in particular, wrote heartwarming letters to her, and upon reading them, she attested that she became very emotional since she could feel every word they were saying.
One letter read: “Hi to the most beautiful girl/woman in the world. I’m so sorry if I make you feel cringe. This letter is from the short girl with the light blue bag. I am your number one fan.”
Another letter read: “Shericka I love you so much I can’t believe that you were a student here. I love you so much please can I have a hug please? I always watch your videos, please.
"I love you so much darling Shericka Jackson, I wish we were related…”
Jackson noted that she was busy and could not read the letter while still in the school vicinity but when she got home, she opened them and she was in awe of the love shown to her.
In a post on her Instagram page, she said: “On my arrival at Vere Technical High School, I met these two nice students. They were so excited and that made me so happy and excited too.

"When I was at the WATA booth on their lunch break they both gave me two letters and I took them and smiled, I was super busy at the time to read them.
"I read them when I got home and got so emotional because I could feel every word they wrote. This made my whole trip to Vere Technical High School.”
