Shericka Jackson has had a great 2023 season and has shared one of the most valuable lessons she will carry to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Two-time World 200m champion Shericka Jackson has had an impeccable 2023 season and she will be eager to extend her hot streak to the Olympic Games next year.

Jackson has remained unbeaten in the 200m the whole season and ended her track season on a high, bagging two trophies, 100m, and 200m, at the Prefontaine Classic, the final Diamond League Meeting.

The Jamaican noted that happiness has been her key to success and that is one valuable thing she will carry forward to next year as she eyes her first gold medal in an individual event.

“I want to be happy…whenever I’m happy I perform so well. This year was a living testimony of how happy I was on the track.

"Even when I lose I take pictures with my beautiful smile. I think that’s one thing but I also keep working hard and believe in myself,” she said.

The World 100m silver medallist added that she rates her season as a 10 since she has achieved almost all her goals.

“My season has been a 10. This has been my most consistent season…I think I did pretty well and kept running fast and having fun. I think that sums up everything…it was a fantastic season,” Jackson said.

She added that last year, she wanted to bag two Diamond League Trophies but did not manage and she decided to give it another shot this year and she managed a double win.

“Last year I wanted two Diamonds and I had written them in my book but I got one. I wrote it again this year and I won two…so right now, I have three trophies,” Jackson said.
