Christian Coleman is a big fan and derives inspiration from Sha'Carri Richardson as the face of track and field.

World 60m champion Christian Coleman has joined the growing list of athletics faithful who believe Sha'Carri Richardson's recent buzz as the face of track and field is good for the sport.

After winning the world 100m title in Budapest last year, the world's fastest woman's success off-track has seen her rise to the top as the face of the sport alongside Noah Lyles, and it pleases Coleman to see her excel at the highest level.

Coleman further stated that Richardson has the qualities to propel the sport forward and is a big fan of her accomplishments.

"She's a beast within her own right and she's a special talent, and I think she's someone who's going to continue to propel the sport forward and be able to take it to new heights and I'm a fan too.

"She's someone that I pull inspiration from, to be able to see everything she's going through with her career, what she's doing now it's really special. So I'm inspired by it, so she's going to continue to be at the forefront of pushing the sport forward," he concluded.

Richardson is tipped as the undisputed face of track and field for the next decade, and if she's able to replicate her World Championships Budapest performance at the Paris Olympic Games and subsequent championships, then her journey into legendary status like Usain Bolt has only begun.

But first, the 24-year-old will be gunning for her first win of the season in a fast time at the Xiamen Diamond League, in preparation for an iconic outing in Paris.
