South Africa’s Luxolo Adams is seeking legal advice after the South African athletics federation removed him from the list of athletes who will be heading to Paris 2024 Olympic Games despite having attained the qualification time.
Adams clocked a stunning 20.15 to finish third in the preliminaries of the 200m at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary to qualify for the Olympic Games.
The South African noted that ASA informed him of the decision in a WhatsApp message, a very unprofessional way of passing the message. Wayde van Niekerk has replaced him in the 200m, as he has not been entered in the list of 400m runners to the Olympic Games.

In a lengthy letter released to the public, Adams has not come to terms with the decision by ASA and highlighted the disrespect he was treated with. He explained that he had been in touch with ASA throughout and was giving them an update on his training.
He has only raced once this season, at the 4° Meeting della Leonessa where he finished third in 21.50. However, ASA are not convinced about the fitness of the athlete and they informed him that he is not fully prepared for the task ahead.
