Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has rated his season at 95% following a number of highs and occasional lows.
Speaking exclusively to Pulse Sports, Omanyala explained that he did not want to give himself 100% since he did not achieve all his goals, the major one being the setback at the World Championships.

World 100m and 200m champion Noah Lyles and Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala have cast their vote for their preferred Women’s World Athlete of the Year from the 11 shortlisted.
"I wanted to win a medal at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary but I didn’t. However, I believe it happened for a reason and it was our own doing but that will not affect next year because we are blocking those loopholes,” he said.
Aside from the World Championships heartbreak, Omanyala has enjoyed a great season that saw him return to the Diamond League circuit.

Ferdinand Omanyala has explained how many people did not believe in him when he wanted to defer his studies and focus on training.
He had made his debut back in 2021 at the Meeting in Brussels but this year, he has been able to run in a couple of Meetings.
He started off with a third-place finish at the Meeting in Rabat, Morocco before proceeding to finish second at the Meetings in Florence, Italy, and Paris, France.

Ferdinand Omanyala failed to make an impact at the World Championships and he has remained vague on what really happened on the global stage.
Omanyala then took an international break to compete at the National Championships and the World Championships National Trials where he won the races.
He then clinched his first victory in the Diamond League at the Meeting in Monaco to make history as the first Kenyan to win a Diamond League Meeting.
