Reigning world 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson made a statement at the Prefontaine Classic on Saturday, May 25, with a stunning win in the women’s 100m.
Richardson claimed the win clocking an impressive 10.83 to cross the finish line ahead of Julien Alfred who was forced to take second place in 10.93. Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith completed the podium, clocking an impressive 10.98 to cross the finish line.

The American sprint queen was off to a poor season start in the 200m, where she failed to win any of the two races she competed in. She started off with a second-place finish at the Diamond League Meeting in Xiamen before finishing third in the meeting in Suzhou.

American sprint queen Sha’Carri Richardson has revealed why she enjoys running on home soil after registering her first win of the season following dissapointments in Shanghai and Suzhou last month.
