During a post-race press conference after the Berlin Marathon, a journalist asked the 38-year-old if he thinks his time is enough for qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games since he is bound to face tough opposition from fellow Kenyans.

After his win at the Berlin Marathon, news about a street in Berlin being named after him spread like bushfire but that information is false.
The qualifying time for the marathon stands at 2:08:10 and Kipchoge has already qualified for the event. He clocked 2:02:42, the eighth fastest time in history to win the Berlin Marathon and qualify for the global event where he intends to make history.
“I think that’s common sense…I believe the time is fast enough. We are in A Category and I think the fastest time is 2:05 and mine is 2:02, so it’s three minutes fast,” a smiling Kipchoge said.
As he heads to the 2024 Olympic Games, the four-time London Marathon champion will be seeking to become the first man to win the Olympic gold medals in the marathon three times.
This season, he has proven that he still has it in his legs to keep going. He opened his season with a sixth-place finish at the Boston Marathon earlier this year but cited a left leg problem that hindered him from doing well.
