American legend Michael Johnson has predicted a shift in the 1500m following Josh Kerr’s comment in a video he was featured in a post shared by Citius Mag.
Kerr, the reigning World 1500m champion shared how he is approaching the Olympic year and opened up about his looming showdown with world 5000m Jakob Ingebrigtsen, the reigning Olympic champion in the 1500m.
The Scottish distance runner noted that he is aware of the challenge that the Olympic 1500m final poses this year and he will have to work harder.

Athletics Kenya has unveiled a list of five key requirements for the athletes who will be looking to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
He will be going up against other stars like Ingebrigtsen and the Kenyan charge comprising the likes of Timothy Cheruiyot, Reynold Cheruiyot and Abel Kipsang who are still working around the clock to improve their form in preparation for the clash.

“Everything moves so quickly and there is another opportunity…the fun part of it is that this is a new challenge and it’s a whole new competition.
“I need to be better…the Olympic final is going to be faster than the world final, the runs are going to be faster and it’s going to be harder thing to make and I’m excited to be a part of the challenge,” Kerr said in a part of the interview.
On seeing his comment, American legend Johnson could not hide his thoughts and noted that the 1500m is about to exciting this season.
“When the World Champion says ‘I need to be better’ the world better watch out!” the four-time Olympic champion commented.
A fan commented on his post saying: “Super curious. Budapest was a big win and he had Millrose. the @nikepreclassic is going to be a huge test. I know ppl are locked on Jakob, but maybe Nuguse gives Kerr a run. Who knows.”
