Tobi Amusan's charge to a successful title defense at the World Championships in Budapest continued with another impressive win at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial meet in Hungary.
World champion Tobi Amusan's speed over the hurdles is back to its best after winning her second international race at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial meet in Hungary.
Amusan blazed to an impressive 12.35s (-0.5), very close to her Silesia Diamond League Meeting Record of 12.34s, to finish ahead of US champion Nia Ali in 12.41s and her compatriot Alaysha Johnson in 12.51s.
It is the Nigerian's second brilliant win in two days and fifth consecutive success since the start of July following victories at the Stockholm Diamond League, two at the Nigeria trials in Benin, and recently in Silesia.
It proves that the World Record (WR) holder has peaked at the right time ahead of the World Championships in Budapest, as the times clocked in the past two days are her fastest at this stage of the season.
With the Commonwealth champion running this fast in July and having proof of running her fastest during major championships, Amusan won't be looking at just defending her title but taking down her WR in Budapest.
