Usain Bolt continued his generous commitment to his former high school with huge donation for their preparation ahead of CHAMPS.

Track legend Usain Bolt's generosity towards discovery of new Jamaican talents knows no bounds as he has donated a significant $2,000,000 to his former high school, William Knibb Memorial, to support preparations for the upcoming CHAMPS Jamaica.

According to the principal of the school Mr Wright, Bolt sent a mesage to the school in two ways - "No matter what is happening to me, I am still committed to my school. I am still committed to contributing to the school. Whatever is happening to me, whatever I am missing right now does not have to affect the committment and I've donated $2,000,000 for CHAMPS."

Bolt's sprint talent was discovered at William Knibb Memorial, when his cricket coach noticed his speed on the pitch and urged him to try track and field events.

After being coached by Pablo McNeil, a former Olympic sprint athlete and Dwayne Jarrett, he won his first annual high school championships medal in 2001 and claimed 200m silver medal with a time of 22.04s.

Usain Bolt retired as the greatest track athlete in history with eight gold medals at three Olympic Games

His high school track background will eventually lay the right foundation for his future success, highlighted by being the world's fastest man in history and greatest track athlete to do the sport.

With Bolt's donation, the present students can look forward to having brilliant performances at this year's CHAMPS set to be held from March 25th to 29th at the newly refurbished National Stadium in Kingston.

The annual ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys & Girls Championships (CHAMPS) is the world's most glamorous high school track and field competition, where a new generation of Jamaican athletes are discovered.
