Beatrice Chepkoech has disclosed her plans going forward after starting her season with a striking win in the Netherlands.
World 3000m steeplechase silver medallist Beatrice Chepkoech opened her season on Sunday, November 19 with a commanding win at the Zevenheuvelenloop 15km race in Nijmegen, Netherlands.
She clocked 47.12 minutes to cut the tape thus extending her winning streak from last year. Kenyan-born Israeli Lonah Salpeter came second in 47.55 minutes.

Beatrice Chepkoech announced her return with a commanding win in the Zevenheuvelenloop 15km race in Nijmegen, Netherlands.
Going forward, the reigning 3000m SC world record holder explained that she will now start training in preparation for the busy 2024 season that has the Olympic Games in Paris, France, and the All Africa Games among other events.

“This was my first race of the season and I only trained for one month. I’m not doing that bad in terms of injuries because this has been my first month of training since I ended the season at the Prefontaine Classic.
"I have been consistent and I hope to continue this way. I want to keep training hard because the season has just begun,” she said in an interview after the race.
Coming out of an injury setback, Chepkoech did well in the 2023 season and will be hoping to do much better after successfully opening her campaign.
