'Kisii Express' Mary Moraa just recently became the third Kenyan woman to win a world title in the women’s 800m at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
With such a great feat, many would think she would sum up her season and go back to celebrate as she awaits the Paris Olympics next year. But no, Moraa’s season is still ongoing as she eyes next year’s Olympic Games.

Lately, the 23-year-old has not shied away from showing the world the man behind her never-ending smile.
In a post-race interview after her amazing feat in Budapest, Hungary, Moraa said: “I can’t comment much about next season because I’m not yet done with this season. Maybe when I start next season I will know where I stand and my chances of winning the Olympic title.”
Moraa is the defending Diamond League title champion and will undoubtedly work around the clock to ensure she ends the season unbeaten. The final is scheduled for September 16 and 17 in Eugene, Oregon.
She has had a great run in the two-lap race and so far, she remains unbeaten. She opened her season at the Kip Keino Classic where she dominated before heading to the Diamond League Meeting in Rabat, Morocco.
She then competed at the National Championships before heading to the Diamond League Meetings in Lausanne and Chorzow where she won dominantly in all the races.

A then 18-year-old Kipchoge floored a strong field to win the men's 5000m final race in a championship record.
After winning in Chorzow, Moraa went for the World Championships, in the form of her life and ready to make a mark in the global showpiece, which she absolutely did.
She stunned defending champion Athing Mu and Great Britain’s Keely Hodgkinson to take top honours in the race, clocking a Personal Best time of 1:56.03. Hodgkinson and Mu finished second and third respectively.
