Africa 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala and Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Wiseman Were will be live in action today, April 19 at the second ASA Grand Prix, a World Athletics Continental Tour meeting, at the Germiston Athletics Stadium in South Africa.
The event will be on SuperSport Variety 4, channel 219 on DSTV. Rising star Were hopes to grab his second successive 400M Hurdles win in the Grand Prix series as he lines up against a strong field at 7:05 p.m. EAT.
During the first edition of the Grand Prix, Were won by clocking 49:23 ahead of South Africa’s Sabelo Dhlamini. The race has also attracted the African champion, Sokwakhana “Soks” Zazini, of South Africa.
Omanyala step foot on track for the race at 7:30 p.m. EAT against a strong field as he also hopes to deliver a sub-10 performance.

Omanyala will be lining up as the fastest in the field with a personal best time of 9.77.
He won the first edition of the series in 10.12, missing out on his target but maybe today is the day he will be hoping to redeem himself.
