Rodgers Kwemoi's titles from 2016 stripped as he receives six-year doping ban
Rodgers Kwemoi has been slapped with a six-year ban by the Athletics Integrity Unit with all his titles from 2016 stripped.
This marks Omanyala’s second defeat of the season in the 100m, having finished fifth at the Kip Keino Classic last month. However, he is not disappointed with the performance and has insisted that the main goal this season is to improve in every race in the build up to the Paris 2024 Olympics.

“It was a good race, a season-best…the target of this season is to improve every race as we move closer and closer to the personal best times.
“The transition has been nice and this is my third 100m race of the season and it’s good progress so we improve as we move on,” Omanyala said.
He added that the main goal is to do better and he expressed satisfaction in the time he managed to clock, noting that he is happy to be improving.
“In my previous seasons, we have been peaking too early and this year we are approaching that differently and making sure that we don’t do that too early.
“We are taking everything step by step. The training sessions are different and the approach to the races are different and everything is quite different,” Omanyala added.
