The fourth edition of the Kip Keino Classic set to be staged on Saturday, May 13 at the Kasarani Stadium will definitely be a thrilling show and which sports fanatics cannot afford to miss it.
A number of athletes are set to go hammer and tongs in the battle to secure podium finishes which is bound to warm the hearts of spectators despite the dampening conditions being experienced in Kenya's capital.
Here are some of the reasons why you cannot afford to miss the global showpiece:
1) African record on Omanyala's sight
The continent's fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala will be competing in the 100m race and will be hoping to break his African record that currently stands at 9.77. He set the record during the 2021 edition of the event and will be looking to replicate the same when he lines up against a strong field on home soil.
The 27-year-old has had a great start to his season where he has won seven out of the nine races and he seems to be in brilliant form. At the Botswana Golden Grand Prix, he ran a world lead of 9.78 (wind assisted).
He is, however, bound to face opposition from other elite athletes including world 4x100m relay champion Jerome Blake of Canada and the world 100m silver medalist Marvin Bracy of the United States.

The two largely inexperienced runners will come up against a strong field, hoping to impress on home soil.
2) World class athletes on show
Five-time world champion Shelly-Anne Fraser-Pryce and Sha'Carri Richardson headline the field of international athletes who have jetted into the country.
Fraser-Pryce won last year’s women’s 100m race at the event and will be keen to replicate the same dominant performance where she left the stadium at a standstill.
Three-time Olympics hammer throw champion Anita Wlodarczyk and two-time world javelin champion Anderson Peters have also arrived in the country ahead of the continental event. Kenneth Bednarek, Blake, and Bracy are also some of the stars who will be keen to take on Omanyala over the 100m.
The 2014 World Indoor 800m silver medalist Angelika Cichoka, Terry Twanisha (100m) of USA, Kyra Jefferson (200m), Kyree King (200m), Aaron Brown (200m) and Teahna Daniels (100m).
