World 3000m Steeplechase record holder Beatrice Chepkoech is not planning on lowering her time anytime soon as she heads to the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary scheduled for August 19 to 27.
Chepkoech who has been battling a niggly injury revealed that her main focus at the moment is to reclaim the world title before she thinks about the record.

Under the new agreement, Fraser-Pryce is slated to showcase a Richard Mille watch as she steps onto the track at the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Her injury saw her miss out on last year’s World Championships in Eugene, Oregon but has promised that she is back on track.
“At the moment I’m not focusing on the world record…I want to reclaim the world title first before I start thinking about other things. I am just coming out of an injury and I wouldn’t want to push myself to the limits,” she said.
Chepkoech started off her season on a low note in the 3000m Steeplechase where she finished fourth at the Diamond League Meeting in Doha, Qatar, behind youngsters including World Under-20 champion Faith Cherotich.
The 32-year-old then jetted back to the country for the Kip Keino Classic and announced her comeback with a stunning win. Going for the Meeting in Florence, Italy, she also finished fourth before winning the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne 28 days later.
