Julien Alfred, the latest sprint sensation will be out to stop Jamaican and American dominance at the Paris Olympic Games.
Julien Alfred has been impressive this season and she might just be out to shut down the Stade de France in the women’s sprinting scene at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Alfred is looking to double in the 100m and 200m at the Olympics. The 23-year-old from Saint Lucia was unbeaten in the indoor season as she culminated her indoor season with a win at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.
The world indoor 60m champion kickstarted her outdoor campaign at the Texas Invitational, finishing fourth in the 100m before her second-place finish behind Sha’Carri Richardson at the Prefontaine Classic in the 100m.

Americans and Jamaicans have for long dominated the sprinting scene at the Olympic Games and the current titles are held by Jamaica courtesy of Elaine Thompson-Herah who secured double victory at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. She also won the 100m and 200m at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Alfred might be looking to change the narrative and she has proven to have entered the chat with her stunning performances.
Richardson, Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will not be willing to let another athlete take on their territory, setting up an epic battle in Paris.
