In case you did not know, Burna Boy dreamed about making it to the NBA before a successful music career.
Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu MFR, known professionally as Burna Boy has stated that he had dreams to play in the NBA.
The NBA is the highest level of basketball in the world and Burna Boy stated that he had hopes of making it despite the intense competition.
The 31-year-old headlined the 2023 NBA All-Star halftime show along with Nigerian musician, rapper, and singer Divine Ikubor professionally known by his stage name Rema.
Burna Boy also performed with Nigerian singer and songwriter Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems.
Burna Boy on NBA hopes
After his performance at the All-Star halftime show, Burna Boy had an interview to talk about his love for the NBA.
Burna Boy talked about his memory of watching or playing basketball while growing up.
He said, "I've got too many. I wanted to play basketball at first, I was in high school on the basketball team and we used to kill everyone.

"It has always been a dream of mine to play basketball. Obviously, the roads of life turn different and here still at the NBA. Still made it to the NBA."
Burna Boy also broke down performing at the halftime show and what it means to him.
He added, "It's a dream it's amazing. I had dreams of playing in the NBA as a kid, but I got to perform at the NBA I guess I made it."
The Last Last crooner went on to say that despite Nigeria being a football-crazy country there is still a deep connection with basketball.
He concluded, "Everybody has some point wants to play basketball. It's entertaining, There is something that pulls you towards basketball.
"Obviously, Nigeria is a soccer-dominated country but at the same time we still have some of the best basketball players, you feel me."
Burna Boy a basketball fan despite his global attention has been spotted at several NBA games.
