Nigeria's senior women's basketball team known as D'Tigress are through to the final of the 2023 Women's Afrobasket tournament.
D'Tigress secured a blowout 79-48 victory against hosts Rwanda at the BK Arena on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
A day earlier, D'Tigress recorded a hard-fought victory against Mozambique in the quarterfinals, and now after defeating Rwanda advanced to the semifinals.

Unlike their game a day earlier, D'Tigress started well with a 22-6 margin to take a 14-point lead.
They continued their onslaught in the second quarter, with a 22-12 margin extending their lead to 24 at the halftime break.
Rwanda responded well in the third quarter with a 17-14 cutting the deficit to 21.
D'Tigress newly appointed Head Coach Rena Wakama made tactical changes as the team took the fourth quarter 21-13 to end up with a 31-point victory.
Top performers for D'Tigress
Olaoluwatomi Oluwayemisi Taiwo had an impressive game for D'Tigress in the victory against Rwanda.
She recorded 12 points, two rebounds and two assists in 17 minutes of action.
Taiwo was huge as she made four of her eight three-point attempts.
Amy Okonkwo, off the bench, was also impressive in the win with big shots to kill the opposition's momentum.
In 34 minutes she recorded 23 points, 10 rebounds, two steals, one block, and two assists.
She was eight of 13 from the field and five of eight from three-point range.
D'Tigress now in their fourth straight final, awaits the winners of the game between Senegal and Mali.
