The local basketball governing body has embarked on a campaign to attract more fans at league games as the playoffs edge closer.

The exciting Ugandan basketball nights are set to return if what FUBA has revealed is anything to go by.

The local basketball governing body has embarked on a campaign to attract more fans at league games as the playoffs edge closer.

FUBA president Nasser Sserunjogi has revealed that the plan is to start with Friday games, where fans will be treated to a more than basketball experience no matter the games on the cards.

"We have embarked on a vigorous campaign aimed at attracting more crowds at league games, at both venues (YMCA and Lugogo) because we feel this is key as the playoffs edge closer," Nasser told Pulse Sports.

"We want the fans to have an experience which can bring them back next time, but for now."

"We are pushing the Friday games; we expect to have DJs and various activities which will go a long way in creating a vibe at games," Sserunjogi added.

He added: "The fans need to come ready to also walk away with various prizes from different contests that the MC will arrange on the day."

Last season, the playoffs witnessed a record rise in the number of attendances as both the men's and Women's games went for seven games.

City Oilers were pushed to the limit by Namuwongo Blazers as they claimed their eighth straight title.

In the Women's division, The JKL Lady Dolphins threw away a 3-1 lead as the UCU Lady Canons went on to claim the title from two games down to win the series 4-3.

The City Oilers look to be on course to claim an unprecedented 9th straight league title, while in the Women's division, the JT Lady Jaguars and JKL Dolphins could have a go at it.

The activations are expected to get underway this Friday as KCCA Leopards face UCU Lady Canons in the women's division while KIU Titans face Dmark Power in the Men's division at the YMCA in Wandegeya.
