The City Oilers continued their dominance in the National Basketball League (NBL) with an 87-64 victory over the UCU Canons at the Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday night.

The City Oilers continued their dominance in the National Basketball League (NBL) with an 87-64 victory over the UCU Canons at the Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday night.

In an entertaining game of basketball, the Oilers had to dig deep to secure the win, but their experience and quality shone through in the end.

The first two quarters were evenly matched as both teams traded baskets. However, the Oilers' ability to capitalise on their opponents' errors, especially in the turnover department, proved to be the difference in the end.

The Oilers scored 18 points from turnovers, while the Canons could only manage 10 points.

The Oilers also excelled in fast break points, taking advantage of some sloppy play from the Canons.

They scored 15 fast break points compared to the Canons' two.

These two aspects of the game proved to be the critical factors in the Oilers' victory.

Ruai Luak was the star of the game, leading all scorers with 22 points and 14 rebounds.

His all-around display was instrumental in securing the win for the Oilers. Another standout performer for the Oilers was Titus Lual, who did significant damage to his former team, finishing with 21 points and 15 rebounds.

Lual is currently the front-runner for the MVP award, and performances like this will only enhance his chances of winning.

Peter Sifuma and Rodgers Dauna were the top scorers for the Canons, finishing the game with 13 points each.

However, their efforts were insufficient on the day as the Oilers proved too strong.

Despite the loss, there was a positive note for the Canons as they conceded a season-low of 16 turnovers.

They will be looking to bounce back in their next fixture against the UPDF Tomahawks in the league.

The City Oilers, on the other hand, will be favourites to make it eight games in a row when they face Our Saviour in their next match.

A win in that game would be another step towards a historic eighth consecutive championship for the Oilers.

In conclusion, the City Oilers' victory over the UCU Canons was a hard-fought win that showcased their experience and quality.

The Canons put up a spirited performance, but the Oilers' ability to capitalise on their opponents' errors and excel in fast break points proved to be the difference in the end.

The Oilers will be looking to continue their dominance in the league, while the Canons will be hoping to bounce back from this defeat.
