Newly promoted JT Lady Jaguars will take to the floor against the Miracle Ravens in the National Basketball League on Wednesday, full of confidence that they will get the win and make it five in a row.
Lady Jaguars, who hold the league's best record at 5-1, face ninth-placed Miracle Ravens, who defeated Nabisunsa Girls basketball 72-64 which ultimately secured their second win of the season.
Wins against Angels(63-30), A1 Challenge(63-34), Nabisunsa girls(66-64) and Lady Canons(57-53) has the Kira- based side as early pace setters in the league as they find themselves top.
Playing with a quick transition offence, the Lady Jaguars predominantly score most of their points in the paint due to their ability to turn the ball over from teams and finish efficiently with 98 points acquired from turnovers.
Zainah Angella Lokwameri, who finished with a game-high 21 points in their previous encounter against the Angels, says that the team has been preparing much better to bring them more success down the road. "We have been training much harder to get better in various departments, and that will surely help us down the road", she told Pulse Sports.
She added that the team has been struggling recently despite the wins but has acknowledged that the team is improving. "We have been struggling from the beginning with getting our chemistry and what the coach expects from us, we have been improving, and the only way is up", she added.
They can fully expect a full-strength side as no new injury concerns have crept up within the squad. Brenda Alyano is the player to watch from the Miracle Ravens.
She has averaged 21 PPG this season only behind Margaret Baagala of the Kampala University Ladies' side, who averages 30 PPG.
Akello Winnifred is currently averaging 13 rebounds per game, which is fourth most in the league, and her presence at both ends of the floor will be crucial in how the game will turn out for the Ravens.
They defeated the KIU Rangers, 57-51, in their other campaign win and will look to make it back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
