Los Angeles Lakers coach Darvin Ham has said he expects LeBron James to return before the end of the season.
The end of the regular season is only three weeks away, and it is unclear when the injured LeBron James will rejoin the team.
LeBron James expected to return soon
Lakers coach Darvin Ham sounded positive when discussing James’ injury status ahead of Sunday’s game against Orlando Magic.
He refused to state a specific return date but confirmed that the Lakers "anticipate him coming back at some point."
James suffered a foot injury on Feb. 26 against the Dallas Mavericks. He stayed on the floor to help the Lakers overcome a 27-point deficit to win the game, but he has not played for them since. While the exact nature of the injury is unclear.
Despite losing James, the Lakers have played quite well without him.
Since the trade deadline, they are now 6-6 and are currently seeded No. 11 in the Western Conference, but considering how poorly some of his other teams have fared without him in the past, a .500 record is far from disastrous.
As long as the Lakers remain in contention, James should be back in time for the play-in, which would make them among the most dangerous teams at the bottom of the bracket.
