After the Lakers knocked out the Grizzlies, LeBron James finally addresses beef with Dillon Brooks.
The pursuit of LeBron James by Dillon Brooks was one of the main narratives in the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies' first-round matchup.
After Memphis won Game 2, Brooks said he doesn't respect opponents until they give him 40 and that he enjoys poking bears, all of which were directed at the future Hall of Famer for the Lakers.
Dillon Brooks to LeBron James
He said, "I wouldn't mind playing LeBron in a 7-game series. The legacy is there. First time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away in the first round. It'll test us good.
"I don't care, he's old," Brooks said of 38-year-old James after Game 2. I poke bears. I don't respect anyone until they come and give me 40 [points].
"I let him know that you can't take me one-on-one. You haven't. You can go look at the film.
"He doesn't really take me one on one until that moment. It would've been a harder task to guard Miami or Cleveland LeBron James."
Before Game 3, James confronted Brooks, and the Lakers went on to win. Brooks was then ejected for hitting James below the belt.
James readily droved past Brooks late in Game 4 to give the Lakers a victory.
In addition, despite the fact that James never explicitly addressed anything Brooks said or did while he was speaking to the media, it appears as though he is taking a victory lap on social media in the wake of Game 6, which the Lakers won to eliminate the Grizzlies.
After the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, LeBron James had a lot to say.
On Twitter, he wrote, "Unlike you little […] I'm a grown ass man. Big shoes to fill.
"Grown ass pants. Prolly hustled with your pops, go ask your parents.
"It's apparent you're staring at a legend Who, put a few little […] in they place before trying to eat without saying they grace before!." o
James the NBA top scorer on Instagram added, "If you ever see me fighting in the forest with a Grizzly bear, HELP THE BEAR."
Given that Dillon Brooks had trashed LeBron throughout the entire series, it is logical to presume that LeBron was speaking to him.
However, the Lakers prevailed in the series 4-2, and Brooks avoided speaking to the media for three straight games.
The Sacramento Kings or Golden State Warriors will be the Lakers' opponents in the Western Conference Semifinals.
