KCCA Leopards put on an awe-inspiring basketball display in a high-intensity game against A1 Challenge on Saturday, securing a convincing 81-60 victory, thanks to an outstanding fourth-quarter performance.

The win marked the Leopards' second consecutive victory as they climbed to fourth place in the league table.

Led by Sanyu Aanyu's impressive double-double performance (14 points, 11 rebounds), the Leopards executed their game plan to perfection, dominating the final quarter with a 21-9 scoreline that sealed the win.

Coach Brian Wathum was full of praise for his team's efforts, lauding their flawless execution of the game plan that he said was key to securing the victory.

"I am so glad that our game plan worked because we knew that the A1 Challenge would bring the fight, and we decided to ride out the first three and finish the game," Wathum said.

Wathum warned against complacency: "While our next fixtures may look kind on paper, we will go into those games knowing that we can't underestimate our opponents as this is a season which is as open as ever.”

Meanwhile, despite the defeat, A1 Challenge head coach Osman Juma expressed pride in his team's efforts and urged them to give their all in their quest to avoid relegation.

"Of course, the result is not what we expected, but I am very proud of my team with the effort they showed in the game, and I know we can give more as a team to help our chances of beating the drop," Juma noted.

However, A1 Challenge's task will only get more complicated as they prepare to take on the formidable JKL Dolphins in their next league game, with the odds stacked heavily against them.

But as Coach Wathum pointed out, in a league as open and fiercely competitive as this, anything can happen, and the underdogs can always spring a surprise.
