Chris Omanye is nursing wounds after he was reportedly attacked by thugs Sunday night.

The point guard, who helped Namuwongo Blazers to the National Basketball League finals last season, is admitted at Case Clinic.

His team Namuwongo Blazers, without going into detail, revealed on social media that the guard is recovering well.

The statement read: “Management of Nam Blazers has just visited Chris Omanye at the hospital. We are glad to report that he is in a stable condition and is responding well to medication. We urge you all to continue keeping him in your prayers and please disregard all other speculation on social media.”

The news started filtering through social media channels early Wednesday morning but with no concrete information.

Many basketball fans have already come out to show their support with posts on social media.

One of those is forward Daniel Monoja with whom Omanye played in the finals for Blazers last October.

“Get well soon my guy @ChrisOmanye,” Monoja Tweeted on Wednesday.

It is not clear yet if he is one of the few players to stay with the Blazers for the coming season. Many from last season’s squad have since left but Omanye has been tight-lipped on his next move.
