Ndejje University defeated the UCU Canons in the National Basketball League to keep their 100% record intact with a 64- 55 win.
In a game characterized with alot of turnovers and poor offensive display, it was the defense of Ndejje University that people really took a keen eye on.
Their frontcourt consisting of Joseph Kumbai and Bolton Rujumba, combined for a whopping 10 blocks in the game to increase their tally as the "Angels" lead the league in that field.
An efficient scoring night by Marshel Oketch, who scored 24 points (a career-high), was the much-needed push they needed to win a somewhat scrappy game.
The game had 11 lead changes; also, it tied nine times, proving how hard it was for both teams to take the game from their opponent.
Wins against KCCA and the UCU Canons will surely give the Luweero based team all the confidence they need but urges caution.
"It has been a fantastic two games for us, defensively," Nejje Angels coach John Omondi told Pulse Sports before adding.
"We have been unmatched in the paint and only look to grow from there. It's a long season ahead, so plenty of work to do."
UCU head coach Nicholas Natuhereza cited how the team needs to improve significantly regarding careless turnovers.
"When you concede 28 points off turnovers, it is not necessarily a recipe for success at any level, and we need to pick ourselves up and look ahead to a long season," Natuhereza noted.
Ndejje University will be looking to make three out of three wins when they face DMARK Power next Sunday at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
