After a slow start, with UPDF leading 15-4 at the end of the first quarter and 31-23 at halftime, the Panthers staged a second-half rally to claim victory.
The Panthers started the third quarter by hitting three consecutive three-pointers, closing the gap to just two points.
They continued to put pressure on UPDF in the fourth quarter, going on a 10-0 run and keeping their opponents scoreless for seven minutes.
UPDF scored only ten points in the final quarter, leading to some heated moments towards the end of the game.
David Opolot and Martin Ouma were both ejected from the game after an altercation involving Panthers' head coach.
Despite the loss, Wanyoto Arthur and Godwin Muhamireho of the Tomahawks posted double-doubles, with 20 points and 15 rebounds and 17 points and 16 rebounds, respectively.
UPDF head coach Baker Kyambadde acknowledged the defeat as a lesson, stating that the team needs to play better in their next game against the City Oilers.
Meanwhile, Panthers head coach Brian Wathum praised his team's fighting spirit and character to come back and win the game.
