The National Basketball League witnessed an intense game between the Namuwongo Blazers and the Dmark Power, which ended with a narrow victory for he former on Friday night at the Indoor Stadium in Lugogo.

The game saw Peter Cheng showcase his talent with an impressive double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

The Blazers dominated the first quarter, leading by 14 points, while Dmark Power's offence failed to find momentum, scoring only five points.

However, the five-time champions made an incredible comeback in the second quarter and ended the first half level with the Blazers, with 15 points each.

Isaac Afridra led the charge for the Dmark Power with 17 points and six rebounds, despite having only five points and one rebound in the first half.

Power had a good game, conceding fewer turnovers (26-34) and scoring more bench points (24-16) than the Blazers.

However, it was the points conceded from turnovers that eventually cost them the game.

In the third quarter, Power initially led by three, but three consecutive turnovers swung the game in favour of the Blazers, who scored 29 points from turnovers compared to Power's 23 points.

Power will look to bounce back from this defeat when they face UPDF Tomahawks next, while the Blazers are set to face the City Oilers in a rematch of last year's final.

Overall, the game was a testament to the competitive spirit of the National Basketball League, with both teams displaying their skill and tenacity throughout the game.

Peter Cheng's performance and the Blazers' ability to capitalise on turnovers proved to be the deciding factor in the end.
