Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations youth and mini-basketball commissioner Patricia Ayebare has revealed plans to establish a secondary school competition.
The second edition of the primary school basketball competition is ongoing, with the first instalment happening at Uganda Christian University last weekend.
"There are plans for establishing the secondary schools league," Ayebare told Pulse Sports before adding.
"Especially at O' level, as they are most affected by the USSSA games, and the target is to have all students, regardless of age, competing."
"Investing in youth competitions is vital in the development of the sport in the country because it will streamline talent at all levels making our leagues and national teams stronger in the long run," Ayebare added.
After winning the Fresh Dairy Schools tournament, Budo Secondary School and St. Mary's Kitende are the current secondary school champions in the men's and ladies' categories.
The FUBA mini primary schools league will return on Saturday with a host yet to be decided as St. Francis Budo pulled out due to uncontrollable circumstances.
