Team captain Flavia Oketcho is the latest to join up with the rest of the team as preparations for the FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship intensify.
The team held its sixth training session Saturday evening at the Africa Bible University in Lubowa.

With Victoria Mukisa getting injured in the first training session, the Gazelles were left short on numbers in the point guard position.
Evelyn Nakiyingi and Shakirah Nanvubya are the other options in the position.

BASKETBALL Another superstar joins Uganda Gazelles preps
The former Uganda Gazelles U18 player became the fifth US-based player to join the team.
Next to join the Gazelles camp will be US-based Melissa Akullu, who is expected at training on Tuesday.
Head coach Alberto Antuna will also be expected to join on Tuesday.
The Gazelles are scheduled to train until July 15, when the final 12 will be announced.

BASKETBALL FIBA Women's Afrobasket draw and what you need to know
The 12-nation tournament will be played at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, between July 28 and August 6.
Those will then enter residential camp for two weeks before flying out to Kigali, Rwanda, for the tournament.
Uganda is in Group C alongside giants Senegal and Mali.
The Afrobasket tournament will run from July 28 to August 6.
