That was achieved Friday afternoon following a commanding 85-44 win over Guinea in the fight for seventh place.

Fueled by the return of Jane Asinde, who limped off against Rwanda and also missed the loss to Mozambique, Uganda started on the front foot and took the first quarter 14-10.
The lead kept growing and Antuna’s charges had a 15-point advantage going into the halftime break.

In their semi-final clash with Mali, Cierra Dillard poured in a game-high 33 points, collected seven rebounds and dished out six assists as Senegal defeated Mali 75-65 to progress to the final.
Ritah Imanishimwe, Evelyn Nakiyingi, Brenda Ekone and Maria Najjuma all had a run out in the second half and went on to finish off the job.
Otto scored a game-high 21 points to lead the way while Asinde marked her return with 15 points in 20 minutes.
Hope Akello scored nine points and pulled down 11 rebounds while Imanishimwe shot two-for-eight from downtown to end the game with nine points.
Melissa Akullu got nine points five rebounds as Uganda ended the tournament on a high, to the delight of a sizable crowd that made the trip to Rwanda’s capital.
