A video of President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto meeting American star Shaquille O'Neal has elicited reactions from Kenyans.

President William Ruto landed at the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Monday, April 20 as he commenced his visit to Atlanta, Georgia.

The President, accompanied by First Lady Rachel Ruto, has wowed Kenyans after meeting American former professional basketball player Shaquille O'Neal.

The photos and video have been circulating with many Kenyans having different reactions towards how the President reacted. He was all smiles as he started at the legendary basketballer, who now looked like a giant before him and his wife.

Wanyama Wafula, an X user, commenting on the news, said: “The guy is a giant.” Haroun Wamoto, another user, added a comment saying: “The president is imagining the amount of tax this man would have paid if he was a Kenyan.”

Samwel Wekesa added another comment: “President is much surprised.” Another Kenyan, who could observe the surprise on the president’s face, said: “Staring at the guy like a kid stares at his father.”

“They are making Shaq feel like he is living with a disability,” another comment read, with Felix Otieno, adding a comment saying: “Shaquille is about to drop his children Ruto and Rachel in school.”

“Ruto’s staring is so funny he is like what’s this am seeing,” another user added in the comments. Another comment read: “Our president almost said ‘You are very long my friend’.”

One user joked about the taxes saying: “You see the way the president is looking at Shaquille that's how our salary looks at the taxes imposed on them.” Rusty Case added a comment saying: “Then he'll come and say he talked with Shaq to provide basketball scholarships to US…”
