Israel Adesanya and Anthony Joshua: UFC star explains boxing offer in Saudi Arabia
Former UFC Champion Israel Adesanya tells Nigeria's Anthony Joshua what it will take for him to return to boxing.
This bout is a megafight between two of the biggest punchers in combat sports because Ngannou gave WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury one of the hardest fights of his career.
Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou preview
Once upon a time, Joshua brushed off the idea of taking on Ngannou.
He was only thought of back in the summer as a famous UFC heavyweight champion and not as someone who could ever take on any of the best boxers in the business.
As soon as Ngannou knocked down Fury in the third round of their October fight, the myth was dispelled.
The world was briefly stunned by Fury's strike before he took the necessary action to win on points.
The Cameroonian puncher was now seen as a legitimate threat to the heavyweight class and a lucrative match for any opponent, regardless of their position in the rankings.
Parker outclassed Wilder to the point where many sports experts begged the issue of whether Joshua and Wilder would have been a mismatch that favored the British fighter rather than the American.
As a southpaw, Wallin was expected to give Joshua a difficult test, but Joshua was at his cool, merciless best, swiftly dispelling Wallin's pre-bout confidence.
Ngannou, with his strength, durability, and sheer bulk, will be a different kind of beast.
Unlike Fury, Joshua and his camp have watched ten rounds of Ngannou in a boxing ring, but Ngannou has never fought in a squared circle under the lights before.
Considering how Ngannou did against Fury, he will have a lot of support to duplicate that performance.
Now that the 37-year-old has shown that he is more than simply a gimmick, he also exudes a sense of fear.
Conversely, though, that might just bring out the best in Joshua, so it's probably not a good idea to assume that he can easily knock Ngannou out.
Even though Joshua is a stronger puncher than Fury, it is also important to remember that Fury did not seriously injure Ngannou once during their 10-round bout.
Although it makes sense to expect Joshua to prevail on points with a far more convincing performance, don't be shocked if he must overcome some difficulties to do it.
Time and where to watch Anthony Joshua vs Ngannou

It is anticipated that the main event will start at roughly 11.50 pm Nigerian time, with the early undercard starting at 4 pm and the main undercard starting at 6 pm.
Similar to Ngannou's first fight versus Fury in the fall, this professional heavyweight boxing match is set to last 10 rounds instead of 12 each lasting three minutes.
The fight will be available on DAZN and on cable network DSTV.
