Bwogi who polled 260 votes defeated Mukono Women pool club, Waleed Omar and Itanda Kayakers who managed 205, 180 and 105 respectively.
Olympian Shadir Musa Bwogi is a happy man following his latest achievement bestowed on him by the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA).
The sports journalists governing body through their monthly meeting voted Bwogi as the USPA/Nile Special Sports Personality for January at the Imperial royal hotel in Kampala.
The boxer knocked out Ivan Magumba to claim the national super middleweight title in a record time of two minutes and 51 seconds on 1st January 2023.
"Firstly I am happy that I have been named the USPA sports personality for January, I have always won the best boxer of the year award at the USPA gala but this monthly one is my first and special," Bwogi told Pulse Sports.
"I went through a lot before my fight (against Magumba) some political but I told myself I have to focus and win because that's what counts and I did."
"I am currently back to serious training because I plan to have another fight in March or April with a foreign fighter because I want to challenge myself more especially now that I've dominated my fellow fighters here in Uganda," he added.
