Kenya took home four medals in last year event that was held in Mozambique.
Cameroon will host the 2023 African Boxing Championships in the capital, Yaounde, from Tuesday 13 to Sunday 25 June.
The tournament will bring together the best boxers that Africa can offer, with over a record 26 countries having confirmed participation.

Kenya is set to be among the 15 other countries the African Boxing Confederation expects to confirm their participation in the continental championships.
"If everything goes according to plan, it will be the best championships in Africa ever," said secretary general of the African Boxing Confederation (AFBC) André Basile Kalong.
Last year's edition was hosted in Maputo, Mozambique, and brought together 179 boxers (58 women and 121 men) from 24 countries.

In the event, Kenya was represented by eight boxers in the championship that had last been staged in 2017.
The team took home four medals and was 12th overall, with two silvers for men's and one for the women's category.
Kenya Defense Forces boxer Nick Okoth settled for silver in the lightweight category, the same as Samuel Wairimu Njau in the featherweight final. At the same time, Boniface Mogunde won a bronze medal in the middleweight category.

After the 2023 African Boxing Championships, Team Kenya will shift focus to Africa Boxing Confederation Zone III Championship held in Tanzania in August.
Only seven countries, including the hosts Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia, Cameroon, Burundi, Ethiopia, and Equatorial Guinea, had confirmed participation at the Zone III event.
