Jake Paul provides sickness as an excuse for loss to Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia.
American social media personality and professional boxer Jake Paul has offered an excuse for his defeat in Saudi Arabia.
Paul went toe to toe with British professional boxer and reality television personality Tommy Fury at the Diriyah Arena on Saturday, February 26.
The Problem Child as Paul is known was in an eight-round competitive fight against Fury.
Despite Fury boasting an extensive amateur boxing career with a heavyweight champion as a brother the fight was not decided by knockout.
Fury emerged winner via a split decision favored by two judges while one had Paul.
Paul explains the loss to Fury
Paul has returned to the United States of America (USA) from Saudi Arabia.
The 26-year-old stated his intention to become a world champion in boxing and the defeat to Fury is a setback to his aspirations.
Fury dominated the fight for most rounds and Paul proved to be below par in his first bout against a professional boxer.
Paul however has rebuffed the idea that he cannot get the victory against a professional boxer.
He explained that some of the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) opponents he has defeated have been tougher than Fury.
Paul then went on to give excuses for the loss, citing sickness for weeks and jet lag traveling from the USA.
Speaking about the defeat to Fury on the BS with Jake Paul podcast, he said, "I was sick for four weeks of this nine-week camp. Jet lagged for another week.
"What's p***ing me off is that it had nothing to do with him. He wasn't that great at all. I think Anderson Silva was tougher than him."
Paul stated after the fight that he intends to have an immediate rematch but there is now a possibility of a mega-fight against English YouTuber, rapper, and boxer Olajide Olayinka Williams "JJ" Olatunji, known professionally as KSI.
