Shadir Musa Bwogi, the reigning national super middleweight champion, showcased his dominance in the ring by securing an effortless first-round knockout win against James Mutumwa from Masaka Boxing Club.

In a fight night dubbed 'The Comeback', several bouts in different weight divisions were held at the New Obligato on Saturday evening, with Bwogi taking on Mutumwa in the non-title fight.

Bwogi blamed Mutumwa for being too afraid to face him: "He was so afraid."

"They [ boxers] pay too much attention to the mind games and what the fans anticipate will happen to them in the ring. He came trembling," Bwogi added, added.

The remarkable victory marks Bwogi's second consecutive first-round knockout, following his triumph over Uganda Police boxer Ivan Magumba in the title fight held in January.

However, arranging a suitable opponent for Bwogi proved challenging for the event organizers before Saturday's showdown.

Several boxers declined the opportunity to face the former Uganda Bombers captain in a non-title fight.

Despite the initial difficulties, James Mutumwa, a relatively unknown boxer from Masaka Boxing Club, stepped forward to confront Bwogi.

Unfortunately for Mutumwa, his performance in the ring was lacklustre, offering little resistance to Bwogi's skills.

His feeble attempt at a defensive manoeuvre saw him quickly retreat to the corner as soon as the bell rang.

Bwogi wasted no time capitalizing on the situation, delivering a series of powerful punches that sent Mutumwa stumbling to his knees.

The referee swiftly intervened to prevent further damage, and Bwogi, with a smile on his face, stepped back to allow Mutumwa an opportunity to recover.

However, it became apparent that the fight would not last longer.

Overwhelmed by Bwogi's superior technique, Mutumwa struggled to keep up with the barrage of precise jabs, and punches that rained down on him.

The disparity in skill and experience between the two fighters was evident as Bwogi effortlessly landed blow after blow. It was a one-sided affair.

Bwogi maintained that most local boxers were too afraid to face him, forcing his management to search for worthy opponents from foreign lands.

"The boxer has not yet been confirmed, but there are many options from abroad. I have not yet got the exact opponent," he told this website.

The national champion is looking forward to holding at least three fights before the end of the year, including a title fight.
