However, this year's team is brimming with debutants, which adds an element of excitement and anticipation for their potential to outperform their predecessors.
Joshua Tukamuhebwa, expressed his determination to bring home a medal and make his country proud.
As the team captain, Tukamuhebwa understands the weight of expectations placed upon him, but he remains unfazed, stating, "Being a team captain comes with a lot of pressure and expectations.”
“But I promise nothing will stop me this time. My boys and girls are ready, fit, and fired up."
Another key player in the team, Ukasha Matovu, known as "Morocco" due to his silver medal win at the 2018 Africa Youth Boxing Championships in Morocco, is setting his sights on clinching a gold medal in Cameroon.
Matovu's previous success at the youth level has fueled his ambitions for a triumphant performance this time around.
Debutant Muzamir Ssemuddu brings fresh talent and a hunger for success to the Bombers.
Confident in his abilities, Ssemuddu stated, "It doesn't matter whether I'm new to the team or not. What matters is my results in the ring. I want to dominate my weight by winning medals."
The Bombers are eager to surpass their previous performance at the 2022 edition of the championship held in Mozambique, where they finished joint 15th with Guinea, securing two bronze medals.
Their previous outings saw them achieve a fifth-place finish in 2017 in Congo Brazzaville, with three medals, including a gold in the welterweight category.
They also defended their fifth position in the 2015 games held in Rabat, Morocco, where they won five bronze medals.
As Uganda's Bombers embark on their voyage from June 25 to August 6, the stage is set, and as they enter the final stages of preparations, they are ready to face the challenges that lie ahead.
The team's hunger for success is palpable through camp at Forest Park Buloba, and they are eager to make Uganda proud as they step into the ring and showcase their boxing prowess.
